Because most U.S. media under-reports news, twists facts in the news or neglects to report news, Americans are denied information necessary for them to make informed decisions about certain aspects of their lives and financial decisions and are unable to make informed decisions as to the health, safety and welfare of their families. Those of us who are fortunate enough to have access to the Internet may read news in foreign newspapers or listen to foreign news broadcasts that report news about our own country that our media denies us.

Can anyone tell me if any of our media has reported that Unocal's oil transportation pipeline is now under construction in Afghanistan? Has our media reported that Karzai was employed right up to 9/11 by Unocal to help Unocal negotiate with the Taliban for permission to construct the pipeline? Has our media reported that the pipeline will transport the nearly 30 TRILLION dollars worth of oil in the last known large oil deposit in the world and that it's located in the Caspian Sea and most cost-effectively transported across Afghanistan? Has our media reported that Enron was counting on this finished oil transportation pipeline to supply energy so that Enron could fire up and profit from its huge new facility in India?

Perhaps if our media had reported these matters investors would have had the opportunity to cash in their Enron stock when they learned Enron may go down the tubes because the Unocal pipeline was delayed and Enron's India facility couldn't meet its deadline to begin operating. If you consider this aspect of the neglect of U.S. media's responsibility to its public and do a bit of thinking, you'll come up with many more scenarious where people in this country lost oppportunities to better manage their lives.

Think about it. I have and I got so damned mad I used "mailblaster" to e-mail our media to tell them they were irresponsibility not fulfilling their duty to the public and reminding them that they are licensed businesses who are obligated to live up to the terms of the licenses.
